Graff has unveiled Lesedi La Rona, the largest square emerald in the world.
The main diamond revealed by the rough 1,109 carat Lesedi La Rona diamond was named Graff Lesedi La Rona.
It is the largest diamond with the highest color and highest clarity ever scored by the GIA.
Announcing the news, Graff confirmed that it took more than 18 months from discovery to completion to analyze, cut and polish the diamond.
It was discovered at the Lucara Karowe mine in Botswana and, commenting on the find, Laurence Graff said: "There is a huge amount of good luck involved in uncovering a rough diamond of this extraordinary beauty and importance."
He added: "Year after year can pass without result, months can pass without anything, and then suddenly you are lucky."
In addition to Graff Lesedi La Rona, a total of 66 smaller diamonds were also "cut" from the world-famous rough diamond.
They range in size from under one carat to over 26 carats and are all engraved with the Graff logo, Lesedi La rona and the unique GIA number.
